Head east to one of Oman's most beautiful river gorges, Wadi Darbat to admire the waterfalls, lake, and caves. Continue with a visit to the old fishing village of “Taqah”, famous for the manufacture of dried sardines & its traditional and old elegant Dhofari houses. Visit Taqah Castle, the former official residence of the Governor before proceeding to Samhuram. Samhuram is a famous port from where the frankincense trade used to take place. Excavations here have found coins and manuscripts in Arabic. You will see the remains of Queen Sheba's Palace on top of a small hill. The drive along the coastal road takes you to the old city of Mirbat, the old city of Arabian horses, where the slave trade used to take place. You will see as well the Mirbat Castle overlooking the sea. A walk into the town shows you some old and beautiful merchant houses with carved doors and windows.

Return to Salalah. En-route stop at the beautiful garden of Ain Arzat from where the Royal Farm is still supplied with water.

A tour of West Salalah visiting Job's tomb also known as the Mosque & Tomb shrine of " Nabi-Ayoub" marks the place where the remains of the Moslem Prophet possibly identified as Job of the Old Testament are enshrined. Drive on to Mughsail Beach, which stretches for four km with high cliffs on either side. You can also see the blowholes, which are worn into slabs, and during high tides you see the water bursting out of these holes. Khor Mughsail has an abundance of bird life in the season e.g. flamingos, pelicans, storks, etc. The tour ends with a visit to the Frankincense tree known as the "Holy Incense".
