South Korea Holidays
South Korea or The Land of the Morning Calm is formed of the southern part of the Korean peninsula bordering North Korea and facing Japan across the Sea of Japan, and China across the Yellow Sea. It is a country of wonderful contrasts, all at once ancient and modern, serene and fast-moving, fascinatingly foreign to the first-time visitor, but always friendly.
South Korea is a country of neon-lit skyscrapers and ancient temples, fortresses and palaces and royal burial grounds; it is also a land of remote sandy beaches and rugged peaks, stunning national parks, and thousands of hot-spring islands. A unique culture is reflected in its customs, its language, and a celebrated national dish of kimchi (pickled cabbage) and makgeolli (rice wine).
